I liked this book, even though this is the sort of book that people who like the sort of thing that I like are not supposed to like this sort of thing.

i.e., not the kind of poetry book I’m usually into, but I didn’t really think of it as poetry while reading it. I saw it as a poetic non-fiction story. Anyway, it was clever and compelling and an enjoyable read.
